Chelsea are not having a better season compared to last year. They hoped to be in a different position this year since they finished 12th with 44 points in the 2022/2023 season. Chelsea's appointment of Mauricio Pochettino does not seem to be working out for the Blues as questions about his tenure arise.

Chelsea is currently 11th in the Premier League table with 31 points after losing 4-2 to Wolves at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea lost two Premier League games in a row after losing to Liverpool 4-1 last week. Chelsea conceded four games in two games, and now concern over Pochettino rises. Many Chelsea fans believe Pochettino should be sacked now as the season progresses into the second part. The club themselves believe that as well, but after analyzing the potential of bringing in another manager mid-season, they changed their minds.

Chelsea are not planning to change their manager mid-season, but Mauricio Pochettino is under pressure to improve the club’s results between now and the end of the season. Pochettino will face a huge fight to save his job if Chelsea fails to qualify for any European competition. Chelsea has an opportunity to win a trophy this season on February 25th when they take on Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final. Chelsea are 13 points from a Europa League spot and are 15 points from a Champions League spot. It will be a tough task for Chelsea to obtain for the rest of the season.

Chelsea will need to spend 10 million pounds to sack Mauricio Pochettino mid-season

Chelsea are concerned that sacking Mauricio Pochettino could put them in danger of breaching Premier League spending rules. Ending Pochettino and his large backroom team's time at the club would cost Chelsea over £10M. Chelsea cannot afford to spend this amount as they must reach £100M by the end of June to avoid breaching financial rules.
