Liverpool manager Arne Slot has urged Mohamed Salah to snub interest from Saudi Arabia and sign a new contract at Anfield.

The Egyptian superstar has been heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Hilal eager to secure his signature ahead of the revamped Club World Cup this summer. The Saudi sports minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Faisal, has openly expressed his desire to bring Salah to the league, calling him a "big prize."

While Salah has consistently stated his preference for remaining at Liverpool, negotiations over a new contract have stalled. Slot, however, remains confident that the Egyptian will ultimately make the right decision.

Liverpool Boss Wants Salah to Extend Contract

"I would be surprised if there was anyone, wherever, around the world saying: ‘We don’t want Mo Salah’," Slot said. "He’s doing so well for so many years that everyone probably wants him. But my advice to him would be different to the one you just mentioned [from Turki al-Faisal]."

Slot emphasized that he is in constant dialogue with all of Liverpool's out-of-contract players, including Salah. "It would be ridiculous if in all these times I speak to them we have never spoken about the future. So of course we do," he said.

However, Slot declined to discuss the specifics of contract negotiations, stating that such discussions remain confidential.

Despite the interest from Saudi Arabia, Liverpool will be hoping to convince Salah to extend his stay at Anfield and continue his impressive goalscoring record with the club
