One of the most awaited signings happened last week, although Sevilla FC was waiting to see if they could get Jesús Manuel “Tecatito” Corona for free, as he had only 6 more months of contract with Porto, the injuries made them sign him this winter transfer window.

Just days after his presentation in Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, where he was introduced to his teammates and coaching staff and was given the number 9, he was set to make his debut this past weekend in Copa del Rey round of 16 against most hated rival Real Betis.
On Saturday, after the goal scored by Nabil Fekir that meant the partial 1-1 draw at 39’, Spanish midfielder Joan Jordán was hit by a plastic tube thrown from the stands. The incident ended up in the cancellation of the game, as it was postponed and finished on Sunday, but it prevented “Tecatito” from debuting with his new team.

Although Corona’s debut was the most expected thing in the game, he was not the only Mexican that couldn’t jump to the pitch, as both Andrés Guardado and Diego Lainez, Real Betis players, were on the bench waiting for their chance to play in the Sevillian derby.
