After yesterday’s match against Monterrey, where Cruz Azul lost a comfortable 2-0 lead in the last minutes of the game to only earn a point in the 2-2 draw, it’s clear that Cruz Azul still needs a forward that can complement Santiago Giménez.

So far, La Máquina has done a good job with the additions for Clausura 2022, they still lack a player that can help them finish the game. This was exposed after Giménez was sent off in the last part of the match, when he given back-to-back yellow cards, and Cruz Azul lost all their offensive power.

According to reports, Juan Reynoso has shown interest in the addition of Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero, who currently is a free agent and at 38 is still looking to continue his soccer career in hopes of being part of another World Cup.

What has become with Paolo Guerrero?

Paolo Guerrero is mostly remembered by his stint in Bundesliga, where he played for Bayern Munich and Hamburger SV. But since 2012, Guerrero has played in Brazilian league, until last year, when he ended his contract with SC Internacional. He’s the historical top scorer of Peru National Team.
