"In the Italian league, Di María would be like Maradona. Today Serie A is poor at a technical level and Ángel has quality to spare," Buffon told 'La Gazzetta dello Sport'. "He gets past the opposition with impressive ease, he's decisive in front of goal, he's good at providing assists, he runs all over the pitch and he can fill multiple roles."

Buffon has not yet retired and will continue at Parma next season, when he will be 46 years old, so he does not believe that the Argentine has problems with age.

"Is Di María already 34 years old? I'm 44 and I'm still playing, age doesn't matter. The motivations, the passion you put into your work, your determination are much more important. If Di María decides to make the decision to go to Juve means he's ready to do it."

Why Buffon loves Angelito

Buffon coincided with 'Fideo' the year that Gigi was at PSG (18/19), so he knows him and sees him as a good addition to Juventus. "We are talking about an exemplary professional, as well as a very good guy, who does not give up an iota, who fights not only in games, but also in training. And that combative temperament combines some really incredible technical qualities. In Serie A Today I would be like Maradona," he added of a soccer player who considers that he has shone in several leagues.
