Manchester United is close to signing one of the best defenders in Europe. It is precisely Napoli's star player, Kim Min-Jae. The South Korean has been the great revelation of Serie A and in his first season won the Italian championship and was selected as one of the best defenders in the league.

Now, their paths could coincide with those of Manchester United. After Luciano Spalletti's departure, some elements of the club could join him, although Aurelio Di Laurentiis, the club's owner, wants to prevent this from happening. However, one sale that is already advanced is precisely that of Kim Min Jae to Manchester United. A particular reason, however, could condition this transfer.

According to Il Mattino, the South Korean defender must present his military service in the coming weeks, which would delay his incorporation to Erik Ten Hag's team. From Italy, it is reported that Manchester United will activate his termination clause to be able to finalize his arrival, however, this would be, once the player finishes his military service with his respective country. It should be remembered that in South Korea, many have this obligation, regardless of their profession.

How much will Kim Min Jae cost Manchester United?

Of the South Korean defender has a price tag of 55 million euros, according to Transfermarkt. However, the clause will be effective for a total of 60 million euros, an amount that Manchester United is willing to assume, taking into account the club's need to strengthen its backline for next season. However, the arrival of the player could mean the departure of another element in the team, as is the case of Harry Maguire.
