In recent hours, a rumour has been circulating that has put European football fans on edge: Bruno Fernandes, the star midfielder for Manchester United, is reportedly being targeted by Real Madrid. The speculation began after several media outlets linked the Portuguese player with a possible transfer to the Spanish club. Fernandes' outstanding performances, both in the Premier League and in European competitions, have placed him among the most prominent midfielders in international football, which has only increased the attention from some of Europe's top clubs.

Despite the rumours, the response from Ruben Amorim, manager of Manchester United and one of Fernandes' key figures during his time in Portugal, has been clear and unequivocal. In recent statements, Amorim dismissed any move for the player to Madrid: "Bruno Fernandes to Real Madrid? It’s not going to happen. He’s not going anywhere." These words have put a stop to the speculation, making it clear that the player will remain at Manchester United, at least in the short term.

For Amorim, the priority for Manchester United is to keep their key figures, especially Fernandes, who is one of the team's cornerstones. "One day we want to win the Premier League again. So we want the best players to stay with us... and Bruno is not going anywhere, I’ve already told him," the manager added. This statement not only reflects the club's confidence in the Portuguese midfielder but also their ambition to maintain a competitive team capable of fighting for the biggest titles on both the domestic and international stage.

Bruno Fernandes has been a pivotal player in Manchester United's tactical setup since his arrival in 2020. His ability to distribute the ball, score goals, and assist his teammates has been key for the team. Over the course of his time in England, he has proven to be a versatile player with a significant influence in the midfield, making him an indispensable figure for the Red Devils.

While it is true that Real Madrid has shown interest in several players to bolster their squad in recent months, it appears Fernandes is not part of their immediate plans. Despite the speculations, the Portuguese player has made it clear on several occasions that he is committed to Manchester United and wants to continue at the club, where he feels valued and appreciated by both the fans and his teammates.

"He’s not going anywhere," Amorim’s statement on Bruno Fernandes' future

Ruben Amorim has been blunt on the matter and has closed any possibility of Bruno Fernandes leaving Manchester United in the short term. With the Portuguese manager making it clear that the priority is to keep their best players and build a team capable of competing for the Premier League, Fernandes' stay seems more assured than ever. In this way, the rumours about a transfer to Real Madrid are dismissed, at least for now.
