After some months of uncertainty, the future of Mason Greenwood with Manchester United is finally defined. The soccer player has been inactive for almost a year after being investigated for an alleged case of sexual assault. However, after the charges were dropped, the footballer had options to return to the team, something that Ten Hag did not see with bad eyes.

Manchester United and Mason Greenwood reached a mutual agreement for the footballer to continue his career elsewhere. The charges against Greenwood were dropped in February, so his return was expected. However, following an internal club investigation, they have decided for him to leave Manchester United with immediate effect.

"I want to start by saying that I understand that people will judge me based on what they have seen and heard on social media, and I know that people will think the worst. I was raised to know that violence or abuse in any relationship is wrong, I did not the things I was accused of and in February I was cleared of all charges. However, I fully accept that I made mistakes in my relationship and take my share of responsibility for the situations that led to the social media post, Greenwood confessed to through a statement.

What else did Greenwood say?

“I am learning to understand my responsibilities to set a good example as a professional footballer, and I am focused on the great responsibility of being a father, as well as a good partner. Today's decision has been part of a collaborative process between Manchester United, my family and I", concluded the footballer.
