Over the last decade things have not gone well for Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down as manager in 2013 and since that year they have failed to win any major titles. In fact, Ferguson's last year coincides with their latest Premier League title, while to find their latest Champions League success you need to go all the way back to the 2007/08 season.

Manchester United decides on Varane's heir who would arrive for 50 million euros

This is far too long for one of Europe's top teams, while at the same time their historic rivals Manchester City are having a glorious era under Pep Guardiola. That is why the Red Devils fans were dissatisfied with the chiefs and celebrated the arrival of the new owner: Sir Jim Ratcliffe bought 25% of the club and took over soccer-related decisions.

Although one of Ratcliffe's objectives is to raise the level of the team by recruiting quality players, his first purchase will not be a star that shines on the field, but a Golf Club. According to the Daily Mail, the English side are in talks to buy High Legh Golf Club in Knutsford, in the South Manchester area. That complex was purchased in 2021 for $3.4 million and is now up for sale again.

Reports indicate that the new owner's intention is to build a new training center, as he believes Carrington is not up to the standard of facilities at other clubs such as Manchester City and Tottenham. That is why they are targeting High Legh Golf Club, which has an 18-hole Championship course, a nine-hole course, a clubhouse bar, a restaurant and, above all, plenty of space available to build the necessary facilities to turn it into a first class training ground.

They need players

In addition to this, Manchester United are on the lookout for top players to help improve the team's performances in the second half of the season. One of coach Erik Ten Hag's main concerns is the arrival of a striker. Karim Benzema and Serhou Guirassy are among the players who have been mentioned, but so far there have been no concrete negotiations.
