Barcelona are in an economic crisis and are struggling to find cheap signings in the market. They just lost out on signing Lucas Bergvall to Spurs in the last days of the January transfer window, who moved to Tottenham for more than 10 million euros. Barcelona currently has Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo on loan, but don’t know if they will buy them at the end of the season. Barca is interested in selling valuable players to get out of debt and possibly bring in more young talent. This season is proof that the club will rely on more youngsters from the academy to step up for the first-team games.
Some of the players from La Masia who have been helping the team while other first-team players underperform or are injured are Cubarsi, Hector Fort, Fermin Lopez, and Lamine Yamal. Yamal has been a revelation for the team, as the 16-year-old has a goal and two assists in La Liga this season. Lamine Yamal has started four games in the last ten days for Barcelona, playing 375 minutes in total. He also starts today’s fixture against Alaves as he will play his 23rd match in La Liga for Barca. The club counts him as the starter right winger for many years.
