A major scandal has rocked the world of Spanish football as allegations have surfaced linking several Real Madrid and Barcelona legends, including current star Vinicius Junior, to a multi-million-dollar pyramid scheme.

According to an investigation by elDiario.es, these football icons were involved in promoting Omegapro, a company accused of defrauding over 3 million people of approximately 3 billion euros. The scheme operated under a pyramid structure, promising high returns to investors who recruited others into the network.

In January 2022, football legends such as Roberto Carlos and Fernando Hierro participated in a convention organized by Omegapro in Dubai. A few months later, a "Legends Match" was held in the United Arab Emirates, featuring icons like Luis Figo, Iker Casillas, and Ronaldinho. Vinicius Junior joined the events in Panama in June of the same year, while Carlos Puyol and Eric Abidal participated in a gathering in the Maldives in November.

While the footballers involved have stated that they were invited and guaranteed their safety by the United Arab Emirates, and that they did not receive any financial compensation for their participation, the allegations have cast a shadow over their careers.

The revelation has sent shockwaves through the football world and raised questions about the responsibility of public figures in promoting such ventures. As investigations continue, it remains to be seen whether legal action will be taken against the footballers or other individuals involved in the alleged scam.
