While Manchester United was targeting Zinedine Zidane for next season, the club co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe started talks with Thomas Tuchel about becoming the next Manchester United coach. The German coach is currently the manager of Bayern Munich, but he will leave the club at the end of the season. Tuchel stated that he would want to coach next season and not take a break from managing after agreeing to part ways with Bayern this summer. Manchester United are unsure about Erik Ten Hag, and he could potentially be sacked this summer and not continue next season. Tuchel could join the club for free since he won't have a club, but his salary is worth around $12 million a year.

Manchester United was targeting Zidane, who has not coached since Real Madrid in 2021, but the French manager is undecisive about whether he wants to return to coaching next season. Zidane's salary was also near the $12 million mark at Real Madrid as a manager. Man United is planning to part ways with Ten Hag, who continues not to convince fans with the performances on the pitch.

Manchester United drew 1-1 against Burnley at Old Trafford in the Premier League, and their dream to play Champions League football seems almost over. Man United is now 6th with 54 points and four league games left to play. While United fans are disappointed with the result, Ten Hag once again defends the performance and sees the positive side of it. Ten Hag said, "We are one of the most dynamic and entertaining teams in the league at this moment. We are creating loads of chances by playing good football." The team has one win in the last five matches in all competitions.
