On October 30, the prestigious magazine France Football awarded Argentine Lionel Messi's eighth Ballon d'Or in its 67th edition. The 10 of the albiceleste is the top winner of the award, the same one he managed to beat the Norwegian Erling Haaland and the Frenchman Kylian Mbappé, the same player he defeated in the final of the World Cup in Qatar.

The Argentine is in the United States, since last summer he has been a player for English star David Beckham's Inter Miami. However, the pink team failed to qualify for the MLS play-offs, despite being the champion of the Leagues Cup, with Messi as the great figure. Not even the other stars, former Barcelona, managed it, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

There has been much speculation, since Argentina claimed that Juan Román Riquelme, vice president of Boca Juniors, was going to request a two-month loan for Messi to play in the Club World Cup if they managed to win the Copa Libertadores, but the Xeneize team would be defeated by the Fluminense at the Maracaná stadium, in Rio de Janeiro.

What is known is that next Thursday, November 16, the Argentina team will receive a visit from Uruguay for matchday five of the CONMEBOL qualifiers, on the way to the 2026 World Cup. The albiceleste will receive its neighboring country in the legendary Alberto J. Armando stadium, better known as La Bombonera and there, captain Lionel Messi will have a great gift with all the fans who will be present in the temple of world football.

A big present

As Messi is the current Ballon d'Or winner, being his eighth and probably last, the Argentine star has chosen to display his eighth award at La Bombonera in front of the Argentine fans who will be present at the temple. This is the first time that La Pulga will do this, being a great gift for all the fans of the current world champion team.
