The FA made a decision regarding Liverpool's appeal

Liverpool decided to appeal the suspension of Alexis Mac Allister following his red card in Liverpool's victory over Bournemouth last Saturday in the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp's team considered the punishment to be somewhat excessive and decided to appeal to the Football Association.

According to the Premier League regulations,  Mac Allister’s suspension extends to three games. However, the German boss was not willing to leave his squad limited for such a lengthy period. The lack of midfield rotation has prompted the Merseyside team to explore this transfer market.

In recent days, Liverpool completed the signing of japanese Wataru Endo. However, with the Argentine's red card, things would become complicated for the upcoming match against Newcastle United.

Nonetheless, according to Sports Center, Liverpool has won the appeal in the Mac Allister case, which means that the player will be available for Jurgen Klopp in the match against The Magpies.

Experts were not confident that Liverpool would win

In addition, many VAR experts shared their opinion on Liverpool's appeal, stating that it was highly unlikely that the FA would reduce the suspension, considering certain factors in the Premier League. VAR expert Dale Johnson mentioned that English football tends to be conservative in such decisions. Therefore, a favorable decision for Liverpool seemed impossible.
