Alexis Mac Allister made the news this Sunday for a great gesture he had with an Argentine who was present at the Emirates Stadium, in the match corresponding to the 32nd finals of the FA Cup. The world champion footballer with the National Team in Qatar 2022 was starter after his injury in Liverpool's 2-0 victory over Arsenal and at the end of the match an act of his went viral.
At the end of the match, the former Boca Juniors player approached the stands and, in front of the wild shouts of the Argentine fans, he gave one of them the game shirt. Nicolás Topelberg, the lucky one who received such a gift, published the unforgettable moment on his Instagram account: “From Argentina to the world. Thanks @alemacallister. “Total boss.”
Liverpool beat Arsenal 2-0 and qualified for the round of 32 of the English Football Cup (FA Cup). The last month has hit the Gunners, who have declined in both the Premier League and the Cup. The year has started the same as the end of 2023 for the London team, which has now gone four games without winning: they tied against Liverpool in the Premier League and then lost their next three games (West Ham and Fulham in the league and now against the Reds in the FA Cup).
Falling to fourth place in the Premier League, already five points behind Jurgen Klopp's team, Arsenal are not getting up. He did not take advantage of the change of competition to 'reset' and face another tournament from scratch. Quite the opposite happens to Liverpool. Grown up, he has not lost in an English tournament since he lost to Tottenham on September 30. They only have two defeats, irrelevant, in the group stage of the Europa League. In the rest, it goes like a shot.
Dominate the Premier. Leader with three difference over Aston Villa and five over Manchester City. In the Cup, he left Arsenal in evidence to progress to the fourth round. Liverpool got their third straight victory on track with an own goal from Jakub Kiwior ten minutes from time: he headed into his own goal a lateral free kick taken by Trent Alexander Arnold. Then, in added time, the Colombian Luis Díaz rounded off Liverpool's victory by taking a ball received from Diogo Jota into the net.
