A controversial decision involves Columbus Crew SC and their next game against FC Cincinnati. Despite the recommendations from the Columbus Department of Health, Crew President and General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko will allow 1.500 fans to watch their game with a few basic conditions.

This amounts of tickets will be given to fans according to their season-ticket holders based on seniority. Crew's Mapfre Stadium has a capacity of 19.968: this fact ensure the possibility of keeping the seating layout required. Each fan must keep social distancing and wear masks.

Mike DeWine, governor of Ohio, had issued an order that allowed school athletics program to seat 1,500 fans or 15 percent of an outdoor venue's total capacity. Consequently, Bezbatchenko decided to take advantage of this. "The health and safety of all individuals entering the building remains our top priority to ensure a safe continuation of the 2020 MLS season", Bezbatchenko said.
