In an interview with Mexico's TV Azteca, the coach of the Mexican National Team affirmed that "Chicharito" is still an eligible player for El Tri.

In an interview for Mexico's TV Azteca, Gerardo Martino affirmed that "Chicharito" is still an eligible player and that he is still in the Mexican National Team coach's orbit, according to the Argentinean coach's words.

"He (Hernandez) falls within what we understand are eligible players, I have been saying this for two years. The reality is that for two years he was not chosen, the general concept does not change, and we are in the field where the decision of whether a player is or is not, is within the orbit of the coach," said Martino.

With this statement, the coach of El Tri is apparently considering "Chicharito" for the Mexican National Team, despite the fact that the player has not been called up to the Mexican team for two years.

This prolonged absence was caused by a problem within the Mexican squad during a tour in the United States, which resulted in Hernández Balcázar not being considered for the last Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers.

However, it was this last qualifier that is probably making Martino change his decision regarding Javier Hernandez due to the performance of one of his key players.
