Lamine Yamal broke out this past season with FC Barcelona as a 16-year-old, and yet he has become crucial for the team. He started to play a lot of games under Xavi Hernandez. The Spanish winger was then called up by the Spanish national team despite being 16. He continued to shine with FC Barcelona and was then called up for the Spanish national team squad for the EUROS. Some questioned this bold decision, but it turned out to be the right one, as he is one of the best players in the team and in the tournament arguably. He has three assists and a goal ahead of the final against England. He is ahead of great young talents around the world to win a prestigious award later this year. Mundo Deportivo reports Lamine Yamal is now the only Golden Boy award favorite left in the Euros or Copa America. Both Arda Guler and Endrick have been eliminated. Yamal is younger than Guler and Endrick, and by already performing better with his national team, he is the clear favorite.

Arda Guler was one of the favorites for the Golden Ball award because of his impact on Real Madrid in the latest parts of the past season and his incredible campaign with Turkiye in the EUROS. Guler provided two assists and scored a goal in EURO 2024. Turkiye finished second in Group F with six points after beating Georgia 3-1 and the Czech Republic 2-1 but lost 3-0 to Portugal. They defeated Austria 2-1 in the Round of 16 but lost 2-1 to the Netherlands in the quarterfinals.

Endrick has been a key favorite to win the Golden Boot after impressing many football fans in Brazil for his season with Palmeiras and earning a move to Real Madrid. He scored goals for the Brazilian national team at 17 years old but didn't get enough minutes with the team in Copa America. Uruguay eliminated Brazil in the quarterfinals after losing 4-2 on penalties.

Lamine Yamal at the EUROS

Lamine Yamal was not only called up for the EUROS with Spain, but he also started in four of the five matches before the semifinal. Yamal has provided three assists and a goal for Spain and has created the most chances at the EUROS.
