Some months ago, a news saying that the new Lionel Messi had appeared arrived to the international press. They were all talking about Luka Romero, the wonderkid who was born in Durango, Mexico, went to live to Spain since a kid and decided to play for Argentina national team, due to his parents.

Romero is still 16 years old and has much to improve, despite those who saw him playing to assure that he has a lot of skills and conditions. The comparison with Messi arrived since he was a boy, due to his nationality, his long hair, the fact of him living in Spain but being Argentine and the way in which he carries the ball.

Formed in Formentera, he passed then to PE Sant Jordi and arrived to Mallorca on July 2015. Since then, he worked hard to play in the first team of the club that militates in the Second Division at Spain, but could only play in eight matches so far, entering the most of the time from the bench.

With just a few minutes, the offensive midfielder was capable of scoring his first goal, against UD Logroñés on November 2020, in the victory 4-0 of his team. But Romero hasn’t played any of the last three matches of his team, as his head coach considers he is still too young and the possibility of moving to a place where he can play more is now being considered by this young star.
