Cristiano Ronaldo is surrounded by lots of love: his girlfriend Georgina Rodríguez, his first son Cristiano Jr, plus the ones who came with from his romance, Alana Martina, Eva and Mateo. But not everything can be just ‘love’: he needs protection. Being a world soccer star with lots of fans but lots of haters demand to have safety guards.

The Portuguese legend has two since some time. One of them is Nuno Marecos, who has been working as a bodyguard in the past, having been a bullfighter and paratrooper. The other one carries an incredibly special story. His name is Gonçalo Salgado, born in Portugal, and carrying quite a background from martial arts. They are both over 1.95 meters, or 6 feet 4 inches.

Both Marecos and Salgado was hired in 2018 for the World Cup in Russia, after a seven-year campaign in MMA, including seven UFC fights that earned him five victories. He is extremely experienced in fighting and has been a longtime friend of Cristiano Ronaldo and his family. Also, he is taking care of the whole family.

Salgado had to end his relationship with Cristiano when he couldn’t move to Italy by the time he was transferred to Juventus. A secret clause in the player’s contract was to hire three people, one to take care of his house 24 hours a day, plus two more to follow. Now, the new bodyguards also take Cristiano Junior to his father’s games.
