It was a very strange transfer window in Europe, in which FC Barcelona lost some key players from last season, many of them for free. Even Lionel Messi pushed to leave but was not able to, after president Josep María Bartomeu denied him his way out. And one of the kicked players was Luis Suárez, old Messi companion at the club and Barcelona’s third all-time top scorer.

Suárez talked for the first time about the complicated moment that he went through when the club communicated him that he was not going to be considered. The Uruguayan player told the press that he cried after knowing he was going to be separated from the rest of the team and that it was a very hard moment for him.

At the end, Suárez left to Atlético de Madrid and find a new home under Diego Simeone mandate. In his debut he scored twice against Granada and the squad received him very well. He is now set to be El Cholo's striker, after the departure of Alvaro Morata and the doubtful level of Diego Costa.

Suárez is actually playing with Uruguay national team for the World Cup Qualifiers. In his first game, on Thursday against Chile he scored a goal in the victory of his team 2-1. Next Tuesday he will be playing against Ecuador in the second match of this October international break.
