Jorge Messi, Lionel's father and manager, has sent a letter to La Liga denying Barcelona €700 million release clause in contract. He quotes a clause in his son's contract which states that "this compensation will not apply when the resolution of the contract, by the unilateral decision of the player, takes effect from the end of the 2019-20 sporting season".

What is the meaning of this? Messi's letter to president Josep Maria Bartomeu explicit the chance of get out of the club by unilateral decision. In spite of this, latest information coming from Argentina, ensures that the best player in the world is thinking about staying one more year at Barcelona and leave in june of 2021.

According to TyC Sports, Messi would remain in Barcelona for at least one year, until the end of his contract. This situation would beef up the possibility of having the player once his contract is over and dreaming about him in the MLS (in New York City Football Club, perhaps?) in the near future.
