Like Lionel Messi: the other FC Barcelona star whose contract was leaked

The contract of Lionel Messi was directly published in the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, attacking him putting his yearly salary (555,237,619 euro) and writing 'The Pharaonic contract of Messi that ruins Barça'. Few people knew about it, so FC Barcelona itself was accused of being the leaker, something the club denied.

But this is not the first time it happens. And if it goes as expected and has the same ending as the previous case, the Argentinian will leave the club when his contract expires next June. In fact, he had told in an interview that he was tired of being considered the problem of the club, and that is exactly what is happening.

Messi is going through the same situation as the soccer legend Johan Cruyff. In 1978, his contract was also leaked to the press and a newspaper put the title 'The problems of FC Barcelona start here', writing his salary at the time, 48 million pesetas, the equivalent as 290,000 euro today.

He left the club some months later, so it is expected that to happen to the GOAT. He is free to negotiate with other clubs, and Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Inter Miami CF are seeing themselves in front of a unique chance, because he will probably leave his current team.
