Chelsea fans may not had a great season in the past few years, but they are very excited about the future since the squad is filled with young talent with lots of potential. The Blues hope to shine in the Premier League and in the Champions League with all of these young players hitting their prime. On of their players that will join the team next year is Estêvão Willian. The Brazilian winger is a star at Palmerias and is the next exciting young talent from Brazil.
He is arguably one of, if not the best, players in the Palmeiras team and in the Brazilian Serie A. He has scored lots of goals and provided assists, but in the match against Botafogo, he suffered an injury that got him subbed off in the 81st minute.
It was reported by Ge Globo that Estevão Willian suffered a sprained ankle and knee. Palmeiras is optimistic about the seriousness of the problem since there weren’t any fractures. The expectation is that conservative treatment will have a positive response and that no surgery is necessary. Palmeiras did not announce a date for his return but did mention that his treatment had started.
Palmeiras played against Cruzeiro yesterday after Estêvão Willian's injury but yet won 2-0 at home with goals from Jose Lopez and Gabriel Menino. Palmeiras are second in the Brazilian league with 36 points after 18 matches played. Botafogo RJ are first in the league with 39 points. After the match against Botafogo this past week, Estêvão Willian struggled to walk and had to be helped by his teammates.
Chelsea is hoping that it isn't serious and that it would disrupt his form in Brazil. Willian has five goals and four assists in the Brazilian league so far. He is tied as the top goalscorer of Palmeiras in the league with Jose Lopez and is the tip assister for the team.
Estêvão Willian is currently 17 and will play for Chelsea next year when he is 18. His birthday is on April 24th, and Chelsea fans hope that he will be part of the team as soon as next summer's preseason starts. Many European clubs like Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain, and FC Barcelona were interested in signing him, but he chose Chelsea, which proposed an exciting project.
Willian isn't the only young talent from South America who will join the Chelsea team next summer. Kendry Paez is also 17 years old, and the Ecuadorian attacking midfielder is also one of the most promising young talents in the world. The arrival of both Willian and Paez excites Chelsea fans, and they believe the club has signed two generational talents.
