Argentina’s National team decision with Messi ahead of Copa America that Inter Miami will thank
Lionel Messi has his scheduled set as the Copa America gets closer.
The Copa America 2024 is soon arriving as the Argentina national team starts to prepare to have their players get ready for the camp they will have before the tournament starts. While most of the Argentine players who play in Europe are currently on vacation as many European leagues’ seasons have concluded, Lionel Messi and Inter Miami’s season has just begun. The MLS season runs from February till late early December, which means that Messi will miss a couple of games this summer due to being called up for the Copa America. As June is days away, many Inter Miami fans wonder which games he will play in before June. Argentine journalist Gaston Edul reports that training for the Argentine team begins on June 3rd in Miami. Messi will play his last match for Inter Miami against St. Louis City in Miami before the Copa America. After the match, he will join the Argentine team for the Copa America.
Inter Miami has three games left before Messi joins the Argentina national team ahead of the Copa America. Messi and Inter Miami will play in Canada again as they will take on the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place tomorrow. On Wednesday, Inter Miami will be back home at the Chase Stadium and will take on Atlanta United. On June 1st, Messi will play with Inter Miami at the Chase Stadium against St. Louis City.
After that match, Messi and Argentina will play two friendlies in preparation for Copa America. Argentina will take on Ecuador on June 9th at Soldier Field. Then Argentina’s final friendly match before the Copa America will be against Guatemala at the FedEx Field. Argentina’s first match in the Copa America will be against Canada on June 20th. The other two group-stage games will be against Chile on June 25th and Peru on June 29th.
Lionel Messi’s season so far at Inter Miami
Messi has played 10 MLS matches this 2024 MLS season with Inter Miami. The Argentine star has ten goals and nine assists in those games. He made a goal contribution in every MLS game until the match against CF Montreal. His last match with DC United did not go his way either, as he didn’t get a goal contribution in the 1-0 win.
