Anthony Martial to join Sevilla, according to press reports. Under what conditions did he accept?

According to specialized press reports, Manchester United has already given the go-ahead for Anthony Martial to join Sevilla, in his quest to join a team where he can play a more prominent role, but, under what conditions did he accept?

In this way, Sevilla Fútbol Club, S. A. D. is successfully closing its winter transfer window, having also signed Jesús "Tecatito" Corona a few days ago. 

The player will arrive on loan to the team that plays at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium, and the transfer was made at a cost of between five and six million dollars that the Spanish club will have to pay for the four months that Martial spends in its ranks.

This figure is less than half of the fee he received at United after his club released him without a loan fee. But for the time being, it seems that Martial will finally be able to join a team in which he will play a greater role. 

Under what conditions did Martial accept the transfer to Sevilla?

The player was really eager to play in La Liga and perhaps that is why he even accepted a reduction in his salary, so the option became viable for the club nervion and therefore decided to go all out for the player. 

The player was Julen Lopetegui's main option to reinforce the team's forward line but Manchester United's high demands were the main obstacle to overcome. 

These pretensions consisted of a higher amount for the loan plus the player's salary, which left Sevilla with no options to look for Martial. 

The change in United's decision is still a mystery but what is a fact is that, according to media outlet ElDesmarque, it was Martial who first accepted Sevilla's proposal. 

But the player did not just remain a mere spectator of the transfer as he was a key interlocutor with United, who had other options such as Juventus offering better conditions to the English club.

However, in the end, the winning club was the Nervionense, which will be able to strengthen its attack with the arrival of the French striker. 

And now, according to the aforementioned media, Martial will arrive in the Spanish city this Tuesday to finalize the details of his contract. 

Why is Martial looking for a move away from Manchester United?

Since December 2021, the player had already expressed his desire to leave Old Trafford and made it clear to his manager Ralf Rangnick.

His main argument in the talk with the coach was that he felt the time was right for a change. Rangnick spoke to the media on the subject and said:

"We spoke at length. He explained to me that he has been at Manchester United for the last seven years and he feels it is the right time for a change, to go somewhere else." 

However, press reports had already detailed that the real reason why the player wants to leave the Red Devils is that he does not have the prominence he desires.

In fact, it was the player's agent, Philippe Lamboley, who revealed the most telling information.

In statements to the media, he explained that the former Monaco player was unhappy with his lack of playing time and wanted to leave as a result of not feeling important.
