Manchester City defeated Wolves 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League thanks to four goals by Erling Haaland. Haaland shut the critics up for the criticism he received for his recent performances, like Roy Keane's comments about him playing as a "League Two player." After the Manchester City win, Haaland was asked about Keane's controversial comments, and he said, "I really don’t care about that man.” Many fans were shocked to hear this harsh response, but some were happy to hear him defend himself, including his manager, Pep Guardiola, who kept supporting him during the past games where he didn't score.

Keane is a Manchester United legend, and he made the comment of calling Haaland a League Two player after a couple of games where the Norwegian striker struggled to score against Arsenal. Man City and Arsenal drew 0-0 on the last day of March in a crucial game in the Premier League title race. Haaland only scored two goals in the five games he played after that match.

Haaland scored last week in the 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, which hinted that he was back to scoring goals again. Keane made another joke about Haaland and said that he is now a "Championship level player" after scoring just ten minutes from coming on from the bench. The Man United legend laughed as he said it, but now Haaland seems back to his normal self after scoring a poker against Wolves, which puts him as the leading goalscoring in the league with 25 goals. This season for Manchester City, Haaland has 25 goals and five assists in 28 Premier League matches.

Keane and Erling Haaland's father have history

Another reason why Erling Haaland may not like Roy Keane is because of his infamous tackle against his father, Alfie Haaland. In a Manchester Derby, Keane stuck out his foot and hit Haaland's leg, which caused him a serious injury that prevented him from playing a full 90-minute match again. The two did not get along, and this is regarded as one of, if not the worst, tackles in Premier League history.
