Ronaldo Nazario responds to Cristiano Ronaldo about the best in history

Ronaldo Nazario, speaking in an interview with ESPN Brasil, did not hesitate to clarify his stance on Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent comments, in which the Portuguese forward declared himself the best player in football history. The former Brazilian footballer, recognised globally for his skills and achievements on the field, expressed a clear opinion: although he holds Cristiano Ronaldo in high regard, he disagrees with his self-proclamation.

Nazario stated that Cristiano Ronaldo is undoubtedly one of the greatest players of all time, but he does not consider him to be number one. "He is definitely in the Top 10 of the best in history," he remarked, acknowledging that Cristiano's career has been exceptional. However, for the former Brazilian national team star, there are other figures who deserve the top spot.

"Pele is number one," Ronaldo firmly stated, recognising the "King" as the greatest footballer. Regarding Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona, Nazario indicated that both share a prominent place in his list, regarding them as the best in history, just like Pele.

Furthermore, the Brazilian did not stop there, mentioning other football icons, such as Zico, Romario, Van Basten, Zidane, Figo, Rivaldo, and, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo. In his view, these players have all left an indelible mark on the sport and deserve to be part of the conversation about the greatest players of all time.

Cristiano Ronaldo claims to be the best

Cristiano Ronaldo's words sparked a lot of discussion in the football world. In a recent interview, the Portuguese forward confidently stated that he believes he is the best player in history. Cristiano, known for his competitiveness and confidence in his abilities, did not hesitate to claim that his football legacy is unmatched.

"I am the best player in history, without a doubt. I have no doubt about it," said Cristiano Ronaldo. These remarks created a stir, particularly among those who view other football legends, such as Pele, Messi, or Maradona, as the true icons of the sport. However, for the Portuguese star, his longevity, consistency, and success in various clubs and competitions place him at the top of all.

Cristiano not only mentioned his individual accomplishments but also his collective titles with clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and the Portugal national team. In his mind, these successes serve as proof that his career surpasses that of many other great footballers in history.

Despite the controversies, Cristiano Ronaldo's words remain a reflection of his confidence and ambition, qualities that have propelled him to extraordinary levels throughout his career. Nevertheless, figures like Ronaldo Nazario, who offer a different perspective on the hierarchy of football greatness, continue to challenge his views on who should occupy the throne of the greatest football players of all time.
