In an interview, Reus admitted that the financial package offered by Saudi clubs was significantly higher than what he is currently earning in MLS. "I still make good money here, don't get me wrong," said the 35-year-old. "But if we're talking about Saudi Arabia, it would have probably been ten times more."

However, the German international prioritized family and lifestyle over money. "The fact that I feel comfortable here with my family was more important," he explained. "And there was also the opportunity to continue building a business here and make new connections."

Reus also expressed concern about the increasing demands on professional footballers. With the football calendar becoming more congested, he fears that players will struggle to maintain their performance levels. "It's impossible to play 60 or 70 games a season without getting injured," he said. "Players might start taking fewer risks on the pitch because they simply can't do any more."

The German's decision to join the LA Galaxy has been widely praised, with many fans and pundits admiring his commitment to family and his honest assessment of the modern game.
