Manchester United is currently going through a turbulent period, and the club’s management is taking drastic measures. According to El Nacional de Catalunya, Xavi Hernandez, former Barcelona manager, tops the list of candidates to take over the team in case Ruben Amorim, the current United manager, fails to turn things around. Although Amorim was appointed not long ago to manage the English giant, his tenure has not completely convinced, and his future seems uncertain. In this context, Xavi, who left Barcelona less than a year ago, is reportedly considering a return to the sidelines of a top club like Manchester United.

Xavi Hernandez played a pivotal role in the rebuilding process at Barcelona, but his time at the club wasn’t without difficulties. Despite winning titles like La Liga, Barcelona didn’t meet the international expectations set for the team, and early elimination from the Champions League and inconsistency in domestic competition raised questions about his ability to lead the club to the top. Now, less than a year after leaving the Catalan club, the manager finds himself in an unexpected situation: possibly returning to the Premier League to take on a major challenge at Manchester United.

For its part, United has had a shaky start under Ruben Amorim’s management. The Portuguese manager arrived with the promise of revitalising the team and restoring its former glory, but the results have been disappointing. Although the team has talent, they have not managed to find consistency in their performances, leading to frustration among the club’s decision-makers. According to sources close to the club, if United fails to find stability under Amorim, Xavi would be seen as an attractive option to take charge.

The possibility of Xavi returning to the Premier League could be tempting for the manager, who, despite his loyalty to Barcelona, might view Manchester United as an opportunity to reinvent himself and prove his ability in a new environment. Furthermore, the Premier League, with its massive media exposure and high level of competition, would represent a challenge Xavi would not easily pass up.

Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim finds himself in a complex situation. While he is an experienced and successful manager, particularly with Sporting Lisbon, his adaptation to Manchester United has been more difficult than expected. The club’s higher-ups are not ruling out the need for a change in direction if the results continue to be underwhelming, and Xavi’s name is increasingly being mentioned around Old Trafford.

In summary, Ruben Amorim’s future at Manchester United is uncertain, and Xavi Hernandez could be the ideal candidate to take over if the Portuguese manager fails to improve the team’s performance. The former Barcelona manager, though fresh from his time at the Catalan club, seems to be a strong contender for United’s top job. Will this be the end of Amorim’s era at United? Only time will tell.
