Barely eight days after Manchester united terminated his contract, Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo is set to ink a mouth-watering deal that will see him become the highest paid athletes in the world. Cristiano is expected to sign a record-breaking €200 million contract with Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia after his second stint with the Red devils.

The 37-year-contract old's with Manchester United was terminated  as a result of a rocky relationship with the club's management and manager Erik Ten Hag that got even worse after he made several contentious claims in an  interview with Piers Morgan. The interview did not go down well with Manchester united.

Cristiano is now offered a deal that will keep him playing until he is 40 and a staggering €200 million annually, according to reports. In light of the news, the top 5 highest-earners in all sport assuming the Portuguese superstar does complete the move to Saudi Arabia will changed. According to Forbes, Cristiano earned £83.6m per year at Carrington.

This will more than double his salary and also beat rival Lionel Messi to the top spot. In his career, the legendary footballer has won 34 trophies with Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and the Portugal national football team in his career. He is also the leading international scorer of all-time with 118 goals tto his name.

According to Forbes, the current top 3 paid athletes in world sees Lionel Messi leading the pack with £103.4m annually and he will be dwarfed in salary by his old rival Cristiano Ronaldo if he sign the deal with Al- Nassr. Basketball superstar LeBron James earns £101.4m per year to stay in the second spot while another basketball great player, Stephen Curry earns £77.6m per year to placed third.
