Kevin Durant, one of the biggest stars in the NBA, has once again ignited the hopes of Barcelona fans. In recent statements, the Phoenix Suns forward has left the door open to playing for the Blaugrana team and trying out the EuroLeague before retiring.

"If that's still possible? I don't know. Right now I doubt it. I'm playing in the NBA, but I love the EuroLeague too," Durant said, making it clear that his love for European basketball remains intact.

It's not the first time that Durant has expressed his desire to play in Barcelona. Back in 2019, in an interview with Serge Ibaka, the player acknowledged that he would like to "play outside the United States in my last year" and that Barcelona was one of the teams that most attracted him.

"Barcelona, I hope I can someday. It's the second best league in the world and the games are fun. The EuroLeague is a lot of fun," Durant declared then.

These words generated great excitement among Barça fans, who dream of seeing Durant wear the Blaugrana jersey. However, the player has always insisted that his priority is the NBA and that he is not considering leaving the American league in the short term.

Despite this, the possibility of Durant playing in Barcelona in the future remains latent. The player has a contract with the Suns until 2026, but from then on he could consider making the leap to Europe and fulfilling his dream of playing in the EuroLeague.

Durant's arrival in Barcelona would be a bombshell for European basketball. The forward is one of the most talented and spectacular players in the world, and his presence in the EuroLeague would raise the level of the competition to unprecedented heights.

In addition, the incorporation of Durant to Barça would represent a great boost for the club, both sportingly and in terms of media impact. The player would attract a large number of fans and sponsors, which would allow the club to grow and consolidate itself as one of the benchmarks of European basketball.

For the moment, everything is speculation and rumours. But the hope of seeing Kevin Durant playing in Barcelona remains alive. Who knows if in the not too distant future we will be able to see the American forward displaying his talent at the Palau Blaugrana.
