Chelsea will not be signing Cristiano Ronaldo as Thomas Tuchel has decided that he wants other options for his frontline and for his squad. The arrival of the Portuguese star at Stamford Bridge has been in the news since Ronaldo expressed his wishes of leaving Old Trafford this summer and Jorge Mendes, his agent, had met on several occasions with the new owner of the London team.

As Fabrizio Romano reports, the Portuguese player has finally been ruled out by the Chelsea manager. Although Mendes and Todd Boehly have met on several occasions to discuss the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo for the ‘Blues’, the final decision has always been in the hands of Thomas Tuchel, who has finally decided against the signing of the Portuguese star as he wants other options for the team.

Tuchel wants a more versatile attacker, full of mobility and with a lot of intensity. That is one of the reasons why Romelu Lukaku did not enter into his plans and neither does ‘CR7’, who just this week received an offer from Saudi Arabia for 250 million euros if he signs for the next two years, plus €30 million in compensation to United.

Tuchel decisions reign supreme

The opportunity to incorporate Cristiano began to fade when Thomas Tuchel took the stage. Finally, the influence of the German coach has had more weight than the rest. For this reason, Chelsea has ended up discarding a move for United’s number 7.
