New York, NY – Manchester City is continuing to bolster its youth ranks with the acquisition of another promising talent from the MLS. Following the reported interest in Philadelphia Union's Cavan Sullivan, the Premier League giants are set to secure the services of New York City FC's teenage sensation, Christian McFarlane.

McFarlane, one of the youngest players ever to sign a professional contract in MLS, has been turning heads with his exceptional performances. The left-back, who joined NYCFC's academy at just 12 years old, has been fast-tracked through the ranks due to his exceptional talent and physical maturity.

Born in Basildon, England, McFarlane moved to New York as a child and quickly became a standout player in the NYCFC academy. Despite his young age, he has consistently played above his age group, showcasing his technical ability, physicality, and versatility.

City Football Group Nurturing Another Future Star: McFarlane Joins Manchester City

The City Football Group, which owns both Manchester City and NYCFC, has always viewed McFarlane as a future star. His rapid progression and dual nationality (English and American) have made him an attractive prospect for the Premier League club.

McFarlane has already represented England at the Under-17 level, and his performances have caught the eye of Manchester City scouts. With a move to Manchester City on the horizon, the young defender is set to take the next step in his career.

The transfer is expected to be completed in January 2025, when McFarlane turns 18. This latest acquisition highlights Manchester City's commitment to developing young talent and building a strong foundation for the future.
