Many times, after the important growth of MLS at the soccer level and the attraction of different types of national or foreign investment, there is a tendency to think that all soccer players earn abysmal amounts of money. However, contracts in U.S. soccer do not always ensure a high salary. Sometimes, the million-dollar contract must be earned over time.

When a player with some experience in Europe comes to MLS, it is because of the quality of life, the not so demanding soccer level, but mainly because of the high sums that some teams in the championship manage. However, there are other players coming from the teams' youth academy or coming from university soccer, who have contracts related to their professional experience. That is to say, not so high.
