Michael Estrada is an Ecuadorian soccer player who plays as a striker for D. C. United of Major League Soccer in the United States. He is also a full international with the Ecuadorian national soccer team.
The North Carolina team was hit by a veritable gale in the form of an inspired Michael Estrada, who scored a brace yesterday, the first goal coming in the 37th minute off a penalty kick.
And the second came in first-half stoppage time, when a powerful shot from outside the box bounced off a defender and into the goal, giving him his brace.
The third goal of the game was scored by Ola Kamara in the 65th minute, but the job was already done by Estrada.
Michael Estrada was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on April 7, 1996, and started his career as a footballer in the youth divisions of Club Sport Patria and Macará, the club where he would debut in Serie A in 2013.
After scoring 13 goals in 2015 in Macará and becoming a referent of the team, the following year he would be loaned to Club Deportivo El Nacional in Serie A, with which he recorded his best season, scoring 19 goals in 38 appearances.
In 2017 he would arrive at Independiente del Valle where he would score 24 goals in 42 games, to then return to Macará, where over 27 games he would score 20 goals.
His debut with the Ecuadorian national soccer team came on September 5, 2017, in a qualifying match against Peru.
For this match, the player was called up for the qualifying matches for the qualifiers for the World Cup Russia 2018, against the national teams of Uruguay and Venezuela, in the list of 30 players.
Yes, Estrada played for Toluca from 2020 to 2021, but at that time he was not at his best, and in 59 games he only scored 12 goals, so his time with that team was brief.
However, everything seems to indicate that now in MLS he feels more comfortable and ready to score goals.
