Although MLS 2022 has not yet started, everyone is wondering who is Sebastián Ferreira, the star that is breaking the Houston Dynamo's preseason.
Houston Dynamo signs Sebastián Ferreira for the MLS 2022 Season
Ferreira stood out in yesterday's friendly match between the Orange and Toronto FC, in which he scored one of the goals of the match, which ended 2-1 in favor of the Texan team.
The player arrived at the Dynamo just 1 month ago and in the club's friendly matches he is showing signs of his goal-scoring ability, which is the resource the Orange needs to improve their lack of goals.
This same lack of goals led the Texan team to be last in the general table of the MLS 2021, a tournament in which they scored 36 goals, but in which they conceded 54 goals.
Sebastián Ferreira is a Paraguayan footballer who currently plays as a forward for Houston Dynamo FC of Major League Soccer.
In this club, in addition to scoring a goal in yesterday's friendly match against Toronto FC, he had scored the second goal in his team's victory over Phoenix Rising FC on February 9, a match that ended with a score of 2-1.
"Ferregol" was born in Asunción, Paraguay on February 13, 1998, and is currently 24 years old. But despite his youth, Ferreira has a wide experience in different teams of the American continent.
Sebastián Ferreira began his career as a grown-up at home with Club Olimpia, and in his youth teams, he scored 138 goals.
"Ferregol" managed to make his official debut with the Franjeado team on April 14, 2016, in a Copa Libertadores match, which ended with a 4-0 drubbing over Deportivo Táchira.
Ferreira later managed to debut in the first division on October 29, 2016, facing Deportivo Capiatá at the Lic. Erico Galeano Segovia Stadium, in a match that Olimpia lost by the minimum.
Despite this disappointment, the player scored his first goal on June 18, 2017, in a 2-2 draw against Sol de América.
After his successful stint with Olimpia, the player was transferred to Independiente de Campo Grande, a team where he played 30 matches and scored 3o goals, thus his scoring record continued to increase.
"Ferregol" would leave Independiente de Paraguay in 2018 and would arrive for the 2018-2019 campaign to Monarcas Morelia of Liga MX, a team in which his scoring streak would decrease a bit having scored 8 goals in 23 games.
Ferreira would later return to Paraguay to play for Club Libertad, where he would play 68 games in total, scoring 30 goals.
The player recovered his scoring streak so well that in 2020 he was recognized as the Top Scorer of the 2020 Apertura Tournament with 13 goals.
This would be his last team before joining the Houston Dynamo in January of this year, a team where he is proving that both he and his club are ready to fight for the MLS Cup.
