As part of the rebuilding process going on in Houston Dynamo, after the signing of Pablo Nagamura as Dynamo’s coach, the Orange has made official the acquisition of Sebastián Ferreira out of Paraguayan side Club Libertad Asunción.

The 23-year-old striker will join Houston Dynamo as Designated Player in a 4-year deal with the option to extend it a year more in a record-transfer worth $4.5 million for both Houston Dynamo the highest acquisition in their history-, and Libertad -the highest sell the team has ever made-.
Ferreira said he was very excited to join the club and grateful for the vote of confidence both coach and staff placed on him. “This is an ambitious club and as a player you want to be a part of that. I’m grateful for the opportunity and excited to represent the club.”

During his two-year stint with Libertad, the Paraguayan forward played a total of 78 games, in which he was able to score on 34 occasions and assist 10 times. He previously had a stint in Liga MX with Club Morelia and already debuted with Paraguay National Team.
