It’s clear that Mexico National Team needs some kind of revulsive before facing the last CONCACAF Qualifiers match window, where they’ll receive USMNT in Estadio Azteca in March, as they’ve lost the last three games against the Bars and Stripes.
Jaime Lozano declined arriving in El Tri after learning this
But given that Gerardo “Tata” Martino won’t change his system and will call the same players that have wear El Tri colors since his arrival, Mexican Football Federation has decided to start looking for someone to take over the Aztec squad if Martino doesn’t manage to shake thing up.
They know they need someone that has a strong character to control the players inside the dressing room, even if it means cutting ties with some of the sponsors that keep imposing players to boost their own interests.
Marcelo “El Loco” Bielsa knows what Mexican soccer means, as he coached Atlas in the 90s. He’d agree to become the next El Tri coach as it would mean a new challenge in his career, but he knows he’d stop calling players like Guillermo Ochoa, Andrés Guardado or Héctor Herrera, who are imposed by the sponsors.
He’s Mexican, plays in Brazil and Manchester United has shown interest in him
