According to Sancadilla, Martino's family has asked the Argentinean to resign once and for all from the Mexican national team. El Tata has been suffering from an eye problem for the last few months, and has even missed some games due to this situation. As a result, Martino is already considering stepping down from the national team.

As for his possible replacement, it was unexpectedly as a candidate would already be in talks to enter the position. It is Guillermo Almada, who in an interview for FOX Sports, talked about a possible arrival in view of Martino's health.

When would Almada arrive?

The coach pointed out that he wants to be respectful of the processes, however, if the Argentinean ends up deciding to leave the national team with immediate effect, Almada will join right after. The Montevideo-born coach knows Mexican soccer and could be an interesting option for Qatar 2022.
