Club América couldn’t make it into the final of Clausura 2022 as they were defeated by CF Pachuca in the semifinals with a 4-1 aggregate, but now that Fernando “Tano” Ortíz was officially named coach for next season, he’s starting to plan the movements needed to improve the roster.
The Pachuca player that didn’t wait until the season was over to join Club América
One of the things that hurt Las Águilas the most was the lack of a striker that could score consistently, as neither Henry Martín nor Federico Viñas were able to score with regularity, as they were only able to find the net in four occasions between the two of them.
That’s why Ortíz is after the addition of Atlas FC striker Julián Quiñones, who has become one of the most consistent strikers in Liga MX in the past year, as he couldn’t shine with Tigres, but once he joined Los Rojinegros, he recovered his level.
Although he hasn’t been able to succeed in teams with a big, mediatic teams, as his best moments have been with Atlas in the current season and with Lobos BUAP, back in the 2017-18 Liga MX season, he knows that arriving at Club América and having a good performance will boost his career.
But even if he has an offer from Las Águilas, according to reports from Frecuencia Deportiva, Quiñones has one condition before agreeing to play for América next season: a luxury house for him and his family, a condition that he’s also asked for both Tigres and Atlas.
Now that he’s officially Club América’s new coach, Ortíz wants this player no matter what
