The transfer market continues and teams are still looking for reinforcements for Liga MX 2022, however, they are not the only ones as it is strongly rumored that Carlos Salcedo would leave Tigres to go to a team in Europe.
The rumor gained momentum after Tigres were eliminated from the Liguilla by Leon, the team that finished as runner-up in the Apertura 2021.
And while it was thought that Salcedo's destination would be another Liga MX team, it seems that the Titan is aiming for the other side of the world.
According to Hispanatolia and Fotomac media, Galatasaray of Turkey is the team that wants to recruit Carlos Salcedo and thus, start with the right foot his next participation in the Turkish Super League.
In this way, Salcedo would return to Europe, and this time, the Titan would do it to the very Turkish Hell, as the team's stadium is known.
In the last tournament, Salcedo played 15 games and scored 2 goals, in addition to making 701 good passes.
In addition, the player showed his authority in defense, as in the Apertura 2021 he snatched 78 balls from opposing teams looking for his goal.
And in the previous tournament, his numbers were just as good: he played 17 games, scored 1 goal, and made 870 good passes.
He also recovered 95 balls for his team.
If the rumors are confirmed, this would be the Titan's second stay in Europe, but how did he fare in his first foray?
The player was first in Italy, in Fiorentina, a team in which he debuted on September 15, 2016, in the Europa League, while in Serie A he would debut until September 25, 2016.
On that occasion, his team would draw 0-0 with AC Milan. Despite this promising future, the player did not consolidate in the team, however, he pointed out that he's learning in the team had been very good.
"I learned a lot. The experience in Italy was the best thing that could have happened to me at the age of 23" he said.
"Playing in Fiorentina gave me arguments to go to Germany and thanks to that to be with Mexico in the Russia 2018 World Cup. I matured during the almost three years I was in Europe," the player, who was 26 years old at the time, told Efe.
Salcedo's adventure would have one more stop, at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he could only play 32 games.
But there, he did not score any goals or assists. He did manage to win the Pokal, defeating none other than Bayern Munich, alongside Marco Fabián.
His team was so happy with the results that they used their option to buy the player and paid 5 million euros for a four-year contract.
However, a ligament injury kept him inactive for the first part of that period.
Later, Tigres bought him as a reinforcement for the 2019 tournament, a purchase with which Salcedo returned to Mexico.
