Chivas had a well-rounded debut in Clausura 2022 against Mazatlán. Not only they had a comfortable 3-0 victory against a Cañoneros team that never knew how to stop Chivas players, and one of their homegrown players scored his first goal in Liga MX.

El Rebaño Sagrado also had a debut during the first round of the second leg of 2021-22 Liga MX Season, as the young promising striker, Sebastián Pérez Bouquet, made his debut in Liga MX. This comes as a result of the confidence Marcelo Michel Leaño has in Chivas Academy.
The 18-year-old entered the pitch as a substitute at 85’, playing instead of Eduardo Torres, who scored his first goal in Liga MX, and although he only had five minutes in the pitch, Pérez Bouquet almost scored a goal, on a shot that Mazatlán goalkeeper stopped using his foot as his last resource.

With only 18 years, the 5-foot-4 midfielder is called to be Mexico’s next top player, as he’s done his entire career with Chivas Academy teams, becoming champion with the U-13, U-15 and U-17 squads. He’s yet to earn a spot on the starting XI, but his career seems promising after his bright debut.
