Santos vs Club América: date, time, predictions, odds, TV channel, live stream, and team news
Santiago Solari's team and Pedro Caixinha's will fight to the death at the Corona Stadium to avoid the dishonor of being at the bottom of the tournament and, therefore, they will start with their best players on the field.
Guillermo Ochoa (C); Bruno Valdez, Sebastián Cáceres, Jordan Silva, Luis Fuentes; Salvador Reyes, Jonathan Dos Santos, Álvaro Fidalgo, Alejandro Zendejas; Henry Martin and Roger Martínez. Coach: Santiago Solari.
Carlos Acevedo; Félix Torres, Hugo Rodríguez, Matheus Doria, Omar Campos; Alan Cervantes, Carlos Orrantia, Brian Lozano, Fernando Gorriarán; Eduardo Aguirre and Ignacio Jeraldino. Coach: Pedro Caixinha.
Santiago Solari's time is slowly running out and if he continues to accumulate defeats and draws, his tenure at the Aguilas could be threatened.
Perhaps that is why the team's midfielder, Jonathan dos Santos, spoke in an interview in which he affirmed that he and his teammates "are dead set on Santiago Solari".
In the interview, the player was asked if there was already a rift in the dressing room due to the poor results that the Coapa team has achieved in recent matches, to which the youngest of the Dos Santos family affirmed:
"These are rumors and we are more united than ever. This is not the situation we want to be in, we are América and that's how demanding we are."
The player reiterated his opinion later in the interview and stated, "We are dead set on him, he is a great coach and we want him to stay as long as he can."
Dos Santos ended the interview by stating that he does feel some anxiety about the match against Santos, however, he explained that the team will show what they are capable of.
The case of the Guerreros is just as dramatic as that of the Aguilas as doubts have already begun to be raised about the permanence of Pedro Caixinha at the club, however, he has a different perspective on the subject.
The coach has stated that he is not worried about being at the bottom of the general table and therefore, he affirms that winning the match against Club América is fundamental for him.
The coach said to the media: "We are working to win; it is fundamental for the next match, but I am not worried about the table, but about the team's process and to start adding three points".
