Last September, Zlatan Ibrahimovic tested positive for COVID-19. Now he gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport telling his experience. He had some mild symptoms, but the isolation hurt him mentally and talked about that, being used to be in a training ground and travelling around the world.

Zlatan had some headache and also some loss of taste. He said he was calm at the beginning, with even some curiosity to know how does the virus that affected the whole world feel. But slowly, he started to feel worried, angry with the fact of not being able to go out and train.

At home, he remembered he was annoyed. The situation reached a point where he talked to the house and put names to the walls. He started suffering for everything he felt and for what he did not feel too, calling that a mental issue. Fortunately for him, he recovered fine and went back to be the best AC Milan player again.

Lastly, he said he will approach 2021 one game at the time, like it was his first ever and his last ever at the same time. He said that soccer has no memory and his reputation does not matter, so he must demonstrate everytime who he is. Zlatan stated that his motivation is the reason why he came back to AC Milan: the impossible challenge of taking them back to the top.
