Atlético de Madrid suffered Thomas Partey departure on deadline day, after Arsenal paying the release clause worth $58 million of the Ghanaian midfielder. After that, The Colchoneros are looking for a replacement in the center of the field and Diego Simeone is being seduced by a compatriot that he knows well.

Rodrigo De Paul, Udinese's midfielder aged 26, said that he would like to play for Atlético de Madrid and that he knows that one time the Spanish club was interested in him. As he revealed, he loves Simeone's way of living soccer and wants to feel the pressure that the head coach transmits even in the trainings.

De Paul was formed in Racing Club and sold to Valencia on July 2004 for $5 million. Afterwards, he went back to his former club in Argentina in a loan, but at the end he finished playing for Udinese, that paid more than $3 million for him. This season he played from the start every single game for the Italian club as he is set to be a key player.

After all, De Paul will have to wait to play in Atlético de Madrid, as the Spanish team may contract a player after the departure of Partey but only one from their on league or who's a free agent.
