Benzema gave these strong statements about Lionel Messi

Real Madrid center forward Karim Benzema spoke strongly about Lionel Messi and the moment he is living in Paris Saint-Germain and said bluntly: "those who criticize Messi do not understand anything about soccer".

The French star said this about those who constantly criticize the number 30 of PSG, due to the bad moment that the former Barcelona player is currently living with the French Ligue 1 club.

Benzema's statements are about the critics who have singled out Messi for only scoring six goals in 16 official games at his current club PSG. 

"He needs time to adapt. It is premeditated to judge like that a player with his conditions," said Benzema who also exposed that Messi needs a period of adaptation especially when considering that he was around 17 years working the same scheme, and the same methodology. 

The French international said that it must be recognized that even the greatest soccer stars need time to get used to their new life and referred to the example of what is currently happening with Cristiano Ronaldo, his former teammate who currently plays for Manchester United. 

Benzema is not the only one who has expressed this way of thinking about Messi, as players like Rio Ferdinand and Manuel Neuer, who pointed out that Messi's current moment is transitory.
