Christian Martinoli, TV Azteca commentator, has been known for criticizing Mexico National Team coaches and players when it’s clear that they are not benefitting El Tri, something that even earned him a fight with Miguel Herrera after the 2015 Gold Cup.
Raúl Jiménez and the reason of his lack of goals after his injury
And for the current cycle, Martinoli hasn’t stopped with the harsh critics, as Mexico National Team’s recent performances have been disappointing, to say the least, given that they still haven’t guaranteed their assistance to Qatar 2022.
But among all the players that have been part of Mexico National Team in the past years, Martinoli considers that Giovani dos Santos was the biggest lie that wore El Tri colors, as he could never prove why he was Ronaldinho’s protegee in FC Barcelona when he was just a kid.
After becoming FIFA U-17 Champion in 2005, the older of the Dos Santos brothers was called to achieve great things, but he never was able to establish himself, and even though he had Televisa’s back up, Gio threw away his career. Currently, the 32-year-old offensive midfielder is a free agent after Club América ended his contract.
