Chivas completed a very strange season this year. After the comeback of the COVID-19 pandemic the team coached by Víctor Vucetich finishes tournament Guard1nes on the seventh position, after earning 26 points on 17 games played. On their last match, the team finally showed some changes.

The Rebaño Sagrado defeated Monterrey 3-1 and achieved their first victory in their last three matches played. Chivas won with goals from Ángel Zaldívar, Alexis Vega and Jesús Ricardo Angulo. But, what changed overnight for the team to get that result? Many things for sure.

First, Vucetich and sport adviser Ricardo Peláez decided to axe Dieter Villalpando, Eduardo López, José Juan Vázquez and Alexis Peña, the undisciplined players who hadn’t behave as it was expected and won’t play again with Chivas jersey. That was a clear message to the locker room on how players should behave.

With more authority that before, Chivas now gained three points that are not so important, as their condition on the league was already defined. But the triumph was useful for what is coming next on the competition, as the team improved and proved what they are capable of.
