The long standing battle between Barcelona and Ronald Koeman has finally been resolved after the club and the manager's representative agreed on a compensation package to suit both sides after weeks of debating.
Ronald Koeman was holding out for a compensation of £10m after he was sacked by the Blaugrana but the club were not willing to pay more than £5m which the manager refused to accept despite his ties to the club and legendary status at the club.
The Dutch manager was paid a salary of £5m per season during his time at the club and with him set to receive a compensation of £8.4m which the club agreed to pay before December 31 his earnings at the club would have reached £13.4m.
Koeman was in charge of the club for just a little over a year and won the Copa del Rey in his first season despite going close to winning the Spanish La Liga but he fluffed it. The disastrous start to a new season was what got him sacked.
